golda meir academy

The children at Golda Meir Academy come from a region of Ghana where parents largely support their families with subsistence farming. These families grow enough food to feed themselves but there is most often not a surplus for trade. As such, education and medical care is out of reach for most families, and children are vulnerable to disease, child labor, and human trafficking. Golda Meir Academy is a charity school that was established to give the children of this farming community an opportunity for an education.

Help Provide Food Security for GMA

Golda Meir Academy provides a hot lunch for 115 students daily. With inflation at a record high of 49.3% in Ghana, food security and multi-dimensional poverty has become a major concern for the people of Ghana. Parents are struggling to provide lunch money for their children and often send them to school empty handed. Private charity schools—which are not subsidized by the government—are finding it an enormous challenge to provide nutrition for students. Dream On would like to help GMA enter 2024 with food staples to provide nourishment for its students. Please consider contributing a bag of rice, beans, or oil to our efforts.
